The Simon Fredricks Award is presented to the individual who is judged the Best Panelist at the ASAPS/ASERF annual meeting. The award consists of a check for $750 and an etched Tiffany crystal box. The funds for this award were contributed by Walter Scott Brown, MD (1906 - 1985) in recognition of the unselfish personal services provided to the Society by Simon Fredricks, MD.

The recipient need not be a member of the Society. This award was originally in the form of a document suitable for framing. In 1987, an engraved silver bowl was adopted as this award.
