Project Name: Public Perception Versus Patient Preference of Ideal Breast Size Following Reduction Mammoplasty and Oncoplastic Reduction

Project Summary: This study aims to identify ideal breast size and shape following breast reductive surgery as perceived by the public in comparison to that sought by patients. The majority of patients often request a ā€œCā€ sized breast following reduction mammoplasty or oncoplastic reduction, dictating estimated resection size. However, we may improve patient outcomes by identifying a gap in the patient versus public perception of ideal size and better tailor resection, improving overall patient outcomes and satisfaction. This study may also help identify other key features of breast aesthetic following reduction mammoplasty other than size, including nipple placement, symmetry and projection. It will also identify key differences across different demographic groups.
