The Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation

Planned Giving Print

Providing a planned gift for ASERF is one of the greatest honors you could do. With the addition of a simple paragraph to your will, or by making ASERF the beneficiary of a life insurance policy, you help to secure the future of aesthetic plastic research. While making that decision is never easy, it is one way to give back that has impact and lasting impression.

Life Insurance

ASERF has had been fortunate to be named on several life insurance policies. You too can make a difference by adding ASERF as a beneficiary to an existing policy, or by taking one out in our name specifically.

For those retired plastic surgeons over the age of 75 who are looking to give back, there is a special program available, where an outside organization will pay your premiums and no out of pocket costs to you.

To learn more about these programs please contact the ASERF staff at 800-364-2147.

Wills and Trusts

Planning for the future can be difficult. However, making a gift through your will or trust to ASERF is relatively easy. Once you have made the decision to support aesthetic surgery research simply decide how you wish to make a difference:

  • General Bequest – A gift that states a sum or a percentage in your will or truest is the easiest way to ensure your philanthropic goals are met. Example: “I give 5% to the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation” OR “I give $250,000 to the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation”.
  • Residual Bequest – This gift allows you to give all or a percentage of the “rest, residue and remainder” of the estate after the estate has paid out the beneficiaries and taxes are paid. Example: I give 50% of the remainder of my estate to the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation and 50% to XYZ Organization.”
  • Restricted Bequest – This gift allows you to specify how the funds will be used. Perhaps you have an interest in futnding a lecture, award, scholarship or specific area of study. If this is your interest, please contact the ASERF staff to ensure your wishes are understood and your goals are met.

It is also possible to fund ASERF’s mission through charitable trusts, commercial annuities, securities and real estate. The Foundation welcomes your call to learn more about these opportunities.

It is important to discuss your wishes with your financial planner and/or attorney to declare your attentions and discuss tax implications
